3 Easy Cocktail Recipes for Beginners

Cocktail making is a handy trick to entertain guests and friends. Rather than serving basic mixers with drinks, learning the basics of the art of mixing refreshing cocktails is a great experience. The country has a rich history of cocktails for many occasions, and there are also a lot of stories attached to them. These set the mood for a great evening with your friends.
Here are a few cocktails that beginners can learn to make in a jiffy.

1. Mojito
Much like the Mint Julep, this cocktail is refreshingly endearing to a rum lover, as it is easy to make and tailored for hot days.

Ingredients

White rum – 2 ounces

Soda – 3 ounces

Fresh mint leaves – 8

Lime – 1 (cut in half)

Sugar – 2 teaspoons

Mint Sprig for garnishing

Ice

A wedge of lime

Take a Collins glass, and add the sugar and mint leaves. Pour an ounce of soda and muddle the mint leaves along with the sugar until it dissolves. Fill the glass carefully with crushed ice, and then squeeze the lime halves into the glass. Pour the remaining soda and white rum into the glass and watch them trickle through the ice. Finally, stir the glass quickly and garnish it with a lime slice and a mint sprig. Here you go with the mojito.

2. Margarita
One of the easiest classic and perfect cocktails to make is the margarita. To make it more interesting, you can add your own favorites to this classic, original Margarita recipe.

Ingredients

Tequila – 2 ounces

Triple sec – 1 ounce

Lime juice – 3/4 ounce

A lime wedge

Salt – for rimming the glass

Lime – for rimming the glass

Ice

The first step is to prepare the cocktail glass. Pour some salt on a plate. Choose any glass of your choice and rub the rim on a quarter of a lime. Then, dip or roll the rim in some salt so that the salt sticks to the rim of the glass. Pour the tequila, triple sec, and also the lime juice into a shaker filled with ice and shake until the shaker turns frosty. Then strain the mixture into the cocktail glass and garnish it with a lime wedge. It is now ready to be served.

3. Old-fashioned
As the name goes, this old-fashioned cocktail has been around for decades. Old-fashioned cocktails can be prepared with bourbon or rye whiskey. Here we prepare it with bourbon.

Ingredients

Sugar – 1 cube

Bitters – 2 dashes

Bourbon – 2 ounces

Orange peel – for garnishing

Maraschino cherry – for garnishing

Ice

Place a sugar cube (or two) in a glass and pour three dashes of bitters. Then, muddle the cube and add the bourbon and fill the glass with ice and stir well. Gently press the orange peel over the glass so that the citrus oil sprays over the cocktail and place it on the rim of the glass. Finally, garnish it with a maraschino cherry and serve.
