3 Time-Tested Natural Hair Removal Methods
The most common methods known for hair removal are shaving and waxing, which can be more painful than we would like to admit. On the other hand, you have over-the-counter beauty products, which help with hair removal but contain harsh chemicals that can damage the skin. If you are looking for more natural hair removal methods that will not cause any harm to your skin, here are some natural hair removal methods.
1. Raw papaya
This is a very skin-friendly ingredient that contains papain, an enzyme that can break down the hair follicles. The best thing is that the ingredient suits most skin types, including the highly sensitive ones. A simple pack can be created by mixing raw papaya with turmeric root.
All you need to do is scoop out the flesh from the papaya and blend it into a juicy pulp with the turmeric root (you can use turmeric powder, too). Apply this paste onto the portion of your skin for hair removal and let it sit for about 20 minutes before washing it off. You can use this mixture about twice a week till the hair starts to thin off. Then, easily wax or shave it off.
2. Egg
One of the best ingredients that come in handy for hair removal is raw eggs. When they dry up, they turn into a sticky, waxy kind of substance that helps to trap the hair and acts as a natural mask for hair removal. You can add cornstarch and sugar into the mixture to enable quicker drying of the egg and rip the mask with ease.
You can add one egg to a bowl and mix it with one tablespoon of cornstarch and about ½ a tablespoon of sugar. Let the paste sit in the applied area for about 25 minutes before peeling off the mask along with the hair. Do this once a week to get the best results.
3. Sugar and honey
Most of the beauty tips for nourishing the skin include the use of sugar and honey, which can act as natural paraffin wax. Add in a little squeeze of lime to the mixture, and you have an effective natural hair removal agent. Lemon acts as an ingredient that thins out the hair and reduces re-growth while also bleaching the skin. You will need to add equal amounts of all three ingredients and heat it in a bowl so that you can apply the thick syrup over the area that needs hair removal. Then, use a waxing cloth to strip the cooled down paste, just like you would do with waxing.
All of these remedies are well known and effective. While they may not give you instant results, they do help in the long run by easing up the hair removal process. The ingredients you use are natural but also readily available around the house, which makes it easy for you.
